From a business to a reply: 6 short lessons

Explaindio does the heavy lifting for you. It finds businesses in any town with no video on their website, makes each one a short sample from its own website, and writes your outreach email. These six lessons walk the full flow, from getting leads to logging a reply. The businesses here are made up, for show. Want the short version? See Get your first sample out.

Lesson 1: Get leads with Done-For-You picks

If you have Explaindio 5 Done-For-You Leads. Each month you get two picks. Each pick adds up to 50 businesses with no video on their website, and looks up their contact details. How many depends on the size of the town and the type of business.

  1. On Find Businesses, click Done-For-You picks.
  2. Pick a type of business and type a town, like "Austin, TX".
  3. The screen shows about how many businesses a pick will likely add, like "about 12 businesses with no video". If that looks good, click Start this pick.
  4. Explaindio searches, checks the websites, then shows how many it found.
  5. Click Open the list. The businesses are now in My list.

No Done-For-You Leads? You can still search yourself: pick a type of business, type a town, and click Find businesses.

Lesson 2: Read the business card

  1. Click Open on a business to see what Explaindio found on its website.
  2. Start with one marked No video on site. That is your opening.
  3. The card shows when the website was last checked, like Checked 4 days ago. Click Check again for a fresh check.
  4. The other checks can be wrong, so look at the website yourself before you mention them. The only thing to say for sure is that the business has no video.

Lesson 3: Make the sample video

  1. On the business, under Sample video for them, pick a shape: 16:9 · Website, 9:16 · Phone, or 1:1 · Square.
  2. Click Create sample video. Explaindio reads the website and makes a short video. It takes a few minutes, and you can leave the page.
  3. When it is ready, click Open in the Studio to watch it and change anything before you send it.

Each sample video uses credits.

Lesson 4: Make the sample page

  1. On the business, click Make the sample page to send.
  2. You get a link. That is the page the owner sees: their own video, with a watermark and no download.
  3. Copy the link to send it, or open it to see what the owner sees.

If you change the sample later in the Studio, click Update the page with my edits so the owner sees your changes on the same link.

Lesson 5: Write and send the outreach email

  1. On the business, in Reach out, click Write the email for me.
  2. Read it, and change a line or two so it sounds like you.
  3. Click Send it from my own email, send it from your inbox, then click I sent it.
  4. The business now shows Contacted. Every email carries an opt-out link; if someone opts out, they are marked Do not contact and you cannot email them again.

Send a few at a time, not hundreds, and keep each one short and friendly.

Lesson 6: When a business replies

  1. When an owner writes back, open the business, paste their reply, and click They replied.
  2. Explaindio cannot read your inbox, so this is how it knows.
  3. In My list, click Replied to see everyone who wrote back, and answer fast while they're interested.
